Strong American Schools is a nonpartisan public awareness and advocacy effort aimed at elevating discussion among America's leaders about the need for education reform. Through the ED in '08 campaign, Strong American Schools is calling for a vigorous and thorough discussion of education issues by the candidates for president in 2008.
This campaign seeks to unite all Americans around the crucial mission of improving our public schools by elevating the discussion to a national stage. Strong American Schools states that it will not take a position on any specific piece of federal legislation. The education organization also does not favor one party over another or one candidate over another. The purpose simply is to encourage every candidate to address America’s education challenges with creative solutions and strong presidential leadership. The goal is to build a drumbeat of support for vigorous action after the election, no matter who becomes president The Ed in ’08 campaign is asking every presidential candidate to address three priorities that hold promise for improving education: |
